OUR LEADERSHIP
The Rev. Patrick Cunningham
Patrick was born and raised in Baltimore County, MD. He is a graduate of Loyola University in Baltimore with a degree in History. He and his wife Michele have been married since 1989 and have two children, Caitie and Liam. Though originally born into the Episcopal Church, he endured a long spiritual journey that led him to accept the Lordship of Christ over his life. This happened briefly prior to his calling into leadership in a church plant, the likes of which became the Church of the Resurrection. He has served in various leadership and staff roles at Resurrection and in the Anglican Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic since 2005. As a certified coach for church planters and leaders, he has worked with various planters and leaders throughout North America but especially in the Baltimore Area. Patrick has a passion for developing and mentoring leaders in the Church. He was ordained as an Anglican Priest in 2021, and he is now Vicar of Saint Barnabas Anglican Church.
From Our Vicar:
After I was ordained as a priest in 2021, I was offered the opportunity to serve several smaller Anglican Churches in Maryland as a preacher/pastor. This was an eye-opening experience for me having served at the Church of the Resurrection in Timonium since 2005. Over that time, I watched Resurrection grow from 12 people in a living room to a regional church with weekly attendance of 500 people, housed in a new $15 million facility. But the time I spent with these smaller churches awakened a call from the Lord to start a small church that would remain focused on one area or neighborhood. I was reminded how special and sweet interactions and relationships can be within a family-sized community of believers. This yearning is what led Michele and I to begin praying about planting a church like that in my hometown of Towson, Maryland.
